Hi all, a friend of mine has a 2008 range rover overfinch. Its a 3.8tdv8 auto. It went in for some body repair to n/s front a month ago. They replaced the inner front wing, and the front bumper. Since this time the car now has a strange steering issuse. When going round a long left hand bend, the car without warning will lose all pressure on the steering, and steer off to the right quite quickly. Once its done this all is fine until another long left hand bend. It also does this if you catch the rubble strips. I've told him i'll put a post on here, as i drive a disco and don't have much in the way of an idea with range rover.
cheers alex

Sounds like a steering pump issue.

Forgot to say its also had new icu's fitted at the same time as the new inner wing was fitted. Before all this work was done it didn't have this problem.

That was unknown. when it went for some touch up work, the bodyshop discovered that the front bumper had been repaired to a very low standard. Also the inner wing hadn't been replaced correctly. None of this was recorded on hpi either. Like i said thou the steering isusse only started after it came out of the body shop. Parts fitted are:
n/s front inner wing
front bumper
overfinch icu's
n/s front tyre
n/s front lower control arm.
the steering without warning will lose all pressure for a split second, then regain it again:confused:
