This is my own fault - having just eulogised about the L322 in another thread - mine has just developed a fault. There is chirrup such as a budgie might make - coming from the fan. If i turn on climate control to auto, or manually turn on the fan - the budgie starts chirruping. Turn it off - no budgie.
Is this time for a sharp intake of breath or an easy fix?

Heater fan? Dry shaft bearings. If you can in anyway see the fan motor shaft, a squirt of 3 in 1 or even WD40 will quieten it down.

Turns out Budgies in your blower is expensive. Checked for loose leaves, lubricated the budgie as well as can, still chirruping though. Diagnosed as requiring new blower motor, or bearings. Apparently this involves removing the front of the car. Bumper off, body work off, front seats out and dash pulled out to access the blower. 16 hours official timing.

Or, apparently you can remove the top of the dash, cut a hole in the plastic frame and reach in and do it that way. which is more like an hour.

I think i know which route i’m taking!

Bloody hell! I saw a Car Wizard video of him doing similar, think that was to do with the heater.

Yeah, but i think that was an evoque. This is the guy doing it for an l322.

Which is still a bit more surgery than i would like.

Yeah, I'm never really comfortable cutting bits out that, can't be refitted but, if it doesn't affect anything and, is hidden
no worries if it makes the job easier, sometimes a bit of butchery is neccessary, a minor point, can't understand why JLR
didn't fix the ducts from above in the first place and, I'll bet the blower motor aint cheap either, good luck with it.:)
