After many years of wanting, lusting and looking, I now own a '96 Disco with a couple of tasting mods, to say I'm chuffed is an understatement.

I've chased around middle England looking at Discos being described as 'Solid', 'No problems', 'No usual Disco problems' to see ****e. I finally found an honestly described Disco but I need some advice -

The tyres are Insa Turbo Saharas and between 60-70MPH, the steering shakes quite dramatically. Do they need balancing (not sure how accurately this could be done) or is it something more sinister? 2" lift fitted with no correction arms.

Granted it was hot today, 25c but my feet were cooking with the heat in the wheel well, even with the vent directed to my feet, they were still hot. Is this normal?

get them balanced first, also what size are they?, could be a worn UJ in the prop

make sure the heater is set to the recirculation setting otherwise the air will still get pushed through the vents, or on the cold setting

Remoulds can be difficult to balance succesfully but worth a try. You might also want to look at your front wheel bearings, swivel pins, and all your suspension bushes and steering ball joints. Also worth trying a different set of wheels and tyres on to see if the wobble is still there with them on.
 
TBH as per my other thread i just bought the same tyres in 235 85 16... Balanced up 4 of them a treat (no more than a normal AT tyre), but the 5th took over 200 grams!
