My guess is butter.

Bought a fancy looking Chinese made temp gauge with matching sender. Sender didnt fit fully into the housing so swapped out for Britpart sender and gauge. Gauge went in fine. Removed Chinese sender and before much coolant could get out I got the Britpart sender in. Got it finger tight then started nipping up with ratchet. Tightened lightly then all of a sudden I got that horrid feeling in my stomach as it started to feel like it was loosening! Pulled the ratchet off and the top of the sender came off with it! Leaving the majority of the threads and sender in the housing. Managed to get it out easily with a screw driver. I was ready to catch the fluid coming out with the Chinese sender but only a small amount came out before the flow stopped. Normal?

Are the senders pretty delicate? There was hardly any tension on the sender before it crumbled. I've ordered two just in case I destroy another. Can I use locktite on the threads?

Think you answered your own question there - you said B-part sender, surely you didn't expect them to make it out of decent metal?

And i wouldn't loctite them - can you imagine the hassle removing it in the future if they shear just fitting them in!

I have an in hose sender on my conversion, the sender and adapter are monkey metal-instant gasket and nip and allow to set

I've been reading Britpart aint the best when it comes to quality. I'll hopefully get one of these two in without destroying them. Might throw on some thread tape to see if that makes any difference.

Failing that its back in with the Chinese sender and i'll just run the fans constantly at the event.

I like the sound of this.
