This first of two questions probably sounds really dumb, I don't know how much the part is going to cost because I don't know what it's called and so can't look online for prices.

It's on a 110 SW, the piece of steel channel underneath the floor that sits approx 6 inches behind the rear out-riggers. It goes most of the width of the vehicle.

It's shown on the image on roversnotrth site, but not listed under chassis or body as far as I can see. It's the piece that looks on the image to almost touch the rear bottom link, but I know it's just an illusion. It sits on top of the chassis, mounting to the chassis by 4 bolts and the runs out to parts of the body.

Next question.

I need to replace the rear cross member. The chassis legs to it are good. It's somewhere near £70 more to buy a cross member with legs, but is it much of a job to do it as a bare cross member?

Bare- i guess I need to remove the rear body and fuel tank, cut off the old cross member from the legs, and weld on the new one.

With extensions- I guess I can simply remove the fuel tank, cut the existing legs, weld the new extensions to the cut legs. It sounds a lot easier this way, and worth the additional £70 or so.

Anybody, any thoughts?
BTW, I have a tank for LPG in the rear body, so removing the body probably means disturbing that as well.

With the PC I'm using currently, software to edit images isn't great but the part I'm after is at thehttp://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/attachment.php?attachmentid=8430&stc=1&d=1231708839 end of the big purple triangle.

And thanks for the link on replacing the X member, do I take it from that it's a lot easier to do it with one with extensions rather than a bare cross member?

The part you are after is called the 'body crossmember for 110 SW'. It sits underneath the rear tub and buts up behind the flat plate on which the seat pivots are mounted. Also bolts up to to the outer sill channels.

They are a bit flimsy and i had to replace mine for the last MOT as it was all rotten. I don't think you can do it without removing (or at the very least lifting up) the tub. The bolts will likely be rusted to ****e and will need grinding out.

I got it from paddocks and am pretty certain its this part
LR542 Main body cross member
But ring them first to verify since there's no picture

Cheers.
Rear cross member on order, found a local supplier for the floor cross member for approx £18, but need to go and make sure it's just one that i need as I've been told there are several on the car, and if one has gone there's a fair chance others will b in a similar state.
Now I need to try and put penetrating oil on the nuts and bolts to try and help ease things along, or just cut them out.
ll nice fun on a cold concrete floor in the winter.

I'd say that the floor cross member you are referring to for £18 is a different item, it'll be the smaller strengthening bar that is used to stiffen up the second row floor and the underneath of the tub, theres about 6 of them in total.

The body cross member is £30 from paddocks and i doubt you'll get it cheaper, i tried everywhere.

Get a box of M8 bolts from screwfix as well, well worth replacing all those rusty ones;)

Good luck with the job
