Hi All,
Having owned Freelanders for the past 7 years, last month I decided to sell my 2001 Freelander TD4ES because as a Pensioner I couldn"t afford to run it anymore. What do you think I bought?
A 57 reg new shape, Passion model SMART CAR in black!!
What a mistaka to maka!
Don"t get me wrong, it looks great and drives beautifully but I hate it, I want another Freelander. So, if you know anyone who wants a Smart car as a second car or a first car for a new driver let me know.
I do miss all the banter on this web site so even if I can"t afford to buy another Freelander I will still log on occasionally.
Cheers

Aaaaaaand - there's the banter!

Re: Freelanders, I thought the TD4 was about the cheapest to run.
Maybe you can find a cheap one and use it as a second car - ?
Use the noddy car when you need to do some mileage, use the Freelander in bad weather or when the mood takes you.
Try a multicar insurance policy - just not Admiral - they wanted £420 for my Freelander!

When it comes down to not being able to afford to run a freelander anymore then what can we say to help - there's lots of other motors out there if you really hate the smart...good luck with your decision ;)

We have a Smart Passion and a Freelander, the Smart gets used a lot around town, the Freebie for longer trips as suggested by Bukko. Also try LV for multicar discount. The Freebie is a 3 door 2.0 TDi not a TD4, early enough to have relatively low road tax, pre banding. I would only change it for a 5 door with Air con, same engine type and year, If anyone knows of a good one for sale let me know.

Thanks all for your sympathy. I will putting the Smart car up for sale in the coming weeks and will then be looking for a nice TD4ES Auto. Can"t wait.
If anyone has one and will do a swap or p/x let me know.
Cheers
