right guys ive not got a land rover yet and i was looking at 2 at the weekend.
i dont know how much to offer for each of them both are open to offers.

ones an ex army t reg 109 soft top petrol, been sitting at the back of an old garage for quite a few years and this one will need the most work to put right.
its quite batterd body wise but usable and the engine is in bits ie pushrods are out for some reason so god knows what else is missing and its got a big winch on the front too.
i didnt get a look at the chassis as there was a wall and a car either side of it but the bulkheads rust free!

the others a series 2 j reg ( tax ex, headlights in grill model ) 88 swb van top petrol which runs but has apparently needs a starter motor and selinoid, its 2 windscreens and drivers door windows are smashed but its really solid chassis and body wise and id prefer it to the 109.

what would you pay for each of these in the current condition and what are they worth with an mot ect

thanks for the help

david

wouldnt bother with a 109 in that state unless you fancy a comp restoration an about 500 -700 for the 2 as long as it runs... maybe a bit less but i wouldn pay any more... most important bits are bulkheed, chassis. A new starter motor's an easy job to do and a new soleniod is even easier///

I paid £750 for my sons SWB Diesel on a "J" plate, that had 12 mths MOT and was able to drive away and is still going strong after 4 months of him driving it.

My nearly mint s3 cost 1200.. bear in mind that it only had one previous owner who was a schoolteacher from glostershire who only used it to go to horse jumpin shows... only had 58 thou on the clock and was totally dealer maintained.... was fine till i got me paws on it !!!

i asked the guy with the s2 tonight for a rough price for it and he said £500, i told him i was thinking more along the lines of £200 MAX, he just went hmmm i dont know.
he said he dont think hes got the time to do it up so i'll give him a couple of days and phone him back.

the 109 is being auctioned soon as they need to clear the workshop of other ****e ect for another tenant to take over so i might get it for £50 if no one else wants it.
i'll go for the 109 if the other one come down in price, i could make it pritty cool!

get the 109 for £50 and sell the winch to pay for the S2 88" ;)

By the way a J plate should have lights in the wings rather than in the grill. Is it ex mil and older than the plate? Or perhaps a PO swapped the fron end?

Cheers
Ben

thats what davie said and i would if i had the space!
i notice the swb has the double front bumper but thats as much as i know about it.

the double bumber is a mil feature but often fitted because people like the look. If it is ex mil should also have the mil plate.
another sign is the indicator and sidelight are one atop the other rather than side by side

Cheers
