wet roof and floor

Hi all,

I have started to get water collecting on the load bay cover then on to the rear floor carpet. After a few day i found where it is coming from the roof lining !

Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how to fix it ?

its a 5 door

Possibly coming in through the ariel seal?

roof bars or more likelt the rear plastic strip where rear window glass pushes up into., youve pretty much answered you own question really, remove liner and look again. mastic, job done.

Ahh forgot about the roof rails, mines a 3 door so when I had a look the ariel seemed the only place.

Volvo 480's used to do this as the roof was bonded on... and not very well at that! The cure was to strip off roof lining, and sit inside while a friend hoses the car down, then you can spot the leak. And seal with mastic, so try the same in your Freebie.

most likely rear seal over window, can also be loose plastic inserts holding rear seal, loads of info on here if you care to search.
