I've noticed the smell of oil .
I looked under bonnet seems like I might have a valve cover leak, it seems to drip on to 3 or 4 exhaust manifold. Its hard to tell where it is leaking as heat shields and pipe work are in the way its pretty wet around the area hoping it it just valve cover gasket , whist I'm at it, i am going to make some sort if 90 degrees pipe to attach to the valve cover breather as its rubber join to air intake tube is useless .
I dought its the turbo as the oil smearing is higher than turbo so roll on the weekend :(

Could be worse i suppose .

Ok I done a bit of searching and im am going to improve on the gromit type tube joiner for the valve cover with this I would of liked brass/ copper have you seen prices lately .

This will seal good with no leaks :)

To hold the nut use a peice of string with a nail tied loop it though nut to hold in place enabling me to screw the 90 degree bend :)

A pointless exercise IMO as there should be negative pressure there and a bit of air going really doesn't matter and if it comes loose and the turbo ingests the nut it could be very expensive.

It's an old car all the breathers I've ever known weap my defender did it this does it and many more will do it it saves the oil running all over the car :)

It's not pressure it's just all that oil flicking about and oily air gets sucked In and when you have a dried up rubber join that has perished it lets oil out .
