I picked up an underbody air gun at my local auto part place that had a flexible hose attachment about 50cm long. The end of this had a 4 way sprayer nozzle which was perfect for getting inside the box sections. The gun was about £12. I saw similar ones on ebay. It's a pretty standard item so you should have no bother getting one.

What a job though! I wire brushed the loose rust off my TD5, then sprayed waste engine oil mixed with white spirit underneath, including inside the chassis. I waited a few days then did the underside again with black waxoyl mixed 50% with white spirit.

This mixed sprayed on great, but bloody hell, what a nightmare job. The fumes under the car from the waxoyl would have knocked out an elephant. I had to get this respirator effort out of B&Q for about £30. It was worth every penny, although it was quite a large % of the overall cost of the job. You'll also need goggles and overalls and a hat.

I did the whole job for about £100 and it looks great. I missed a few small places but will get these next year. I messed around with a single pair of ramps but with hindsight if I had another pair and put the whole car up at one time on 4 ramps it would have been much easier. Having get in and move the car while covered in waxoyl is not recommended. My wife convinced me that 4 ramps wasn't safe but I think it would be ok if your drive is sound.

Make sure you put something below the car to catch the mess. I have a gravel drive and totally plastered it in waxoyl.

Thanks Andy i've got a shults gun,just looking on ebay and they have a gun like your talking about f##king 50 quid!!Robbing gits.Will keep my eye out seeing as you paid 12quid for yours thats got to be the way to go.
Looks like you could extend the tube easy enough with some washer hose or something cheers

This looks like the gun I got...
CUB1 Underbody Seal Gun - Machine Mart

I bought a shutz style waxoly canister and used this to screw onto this gun. I made up a large drum of waxoly & white spirit mix and used this to keep replenishing the Shutz canister.

px24 is the miltary number for wd40 i used it in the 70s on phantoms
