Have just bought a (very clean and unadulterated) Series III County - I use a local Land Rover mechanic who has suggested we spray apply Waxoyl. Can anyone offer coment about whether it is worth the cost, whether Waxoyl works and if it will affect the value (up or down)?

thanks

Mine was done fairly recently, sh*tty job if you do it yourself:(. Doing it again I'd pay someone if I could afford it
Whether its worth it or not? I reckon it's got to help preserve the chassis which can't be a bad thing.

Welcome to the forum.

Before the more experienced contributors get to reply, might one gently suggest that an answer to a question such as you are asking is not uncommon. :) As a result, it may be worth your while conducting a search of this site with the word waxoyl. In this way, one might, just might avoid a response along the lines of "Do a search FFS".

You might also find the Introduce Yourself section worth a visit so that you can introduce yourself.;)

Finally,we're a poorly educated lot here, and we like pictures, particularly of shiny Land Rovers - so where's yours?:D

How very polite.

it tends to wash over time , good as a cavity wax but best to rustcure then stone chip the outside of the chassis and also do the rest of the underside

I done mine in the summer... really messy job, but it was worth it, chassi looks good, clean and protected.

and I've washed it after yesterdays lanning and was easy to wash all the mud off, when it has surface rust its difficult to make up whats mud and whats rust, with the chassi all black its **** easy to pressure wash it

Worth it - yes

Preparation is key

Top it up each year

Inside the box sections as well as where you can see!

Personally I prefer Ankor Wax - similar but much easier to spray

13 litres of 3m under the 72 and 2 litres of dinitrol in the box sections and 1.5 litres of waxoyl clear and ml cavity wax in the sills
