Warning Lights

my freelander has three warning lights on ,the a.b.s. the decend control and the traction control lights. I took it to main dealer in plymouth who firstly said it is a common glitch with this model, had to return to dealer two later for computor check which said possible 'shuttle valve ' switch fault. they said they 'adjusted' switch and reset computer.lights gone. three days later lights on again, after much questioning, what the hell is a shuttle valve switch. I found a man who said it is the switch on the gear lever. I checked this and found a switch but no wires on it and no socket to plug the plug into.I have found a socket from a car breaker and fitted up.now for help.as the switch is normally open circuit can this be the sole cause of the errant warning lights ,which are still on. also on same vehicle one side of electric sunroof seems to have no drive to it, looks a big job to get roof lining out.
