HELP
My Disco 200 tdi ignition warning light is on even with the ignition off?

With the engine running all seems ok. With the engine off but ignition on
the warning light fails to show. As soon as I turn the ignition key off the
"ignition/no charge" light comes on.

Battery condition seems ok with a test meter and charge seems ok.
It has only just started to do this after a short local trip.
If there is an expert out there who can assure me that it won't go up in
flames over night I will be much relieved.

I vote dodgy diode pack on the alternator if you have a decent specialist
nearby they will test it and quote on a rebuild which is not as painful as a
new alternator http://www.rangerovers.net/rremedies.htm#alternator I have
never changed the pack myself so have a look at the link for more info (
exchange unit )
