Can you turn it easily by hand when cold?
can you turn it easily by hand when warm?
If the answer is yes to second statement its fooked!
When fan gets hot air from radiator the viscous unit locks up thus turning fan at engine speed drawing through cold air to cool radiator.
The fan will also spin when engine is running regardless of hot or cold just do not try to stop it wi your hand when engine is hot! Bloody hurts
