I have a 1995 V8 Petrol / LPG Discovery which I have owned for about 8 years. During this time it has run very well except that at intermittent times it refuses to start when hot. The engine cranks over just fine, the fuel pump comes on and runs up to pressure and all other ignition lights come on. If I leave it until it is cool it starts without hesitation or if I keep cranking it on an off it will start after about 5 minutes. As yet it has never failed to start.... in the end.
I use the vehicle quite a bit in remote areas of Australia and fear that one day whatever is causing the intermittent problem will finally give up and leave me stranded.
Having read quite a few threads it appears as if the problem could be with the coolant temperature sender or the air valve.
So far none of the Land Rover “specialists” over here have been able to solve the problem and I don’t want to do the diagnostics by replacing bits one by one as that is very expensive.
Can anyone help?
