Using lots of diesel...

Hello again, I put a post on earlier regarding a fuel filter light which I reckon has now been sorted. Another thing I have noticed is that my new landy seems to drink more diesel than my old one. The new one is an automatic 02 ES disco the old one is a manual "S" reg mark 1 disco. Is there a list of things I can check before taking it in to a mechanic?

1st what mileage were you getting from the series 1 and what are you getting from the ES. all disco's vary in their MPG but 30mpg seems to be about the norm.

Td5's guzzle about 17% more derv than tdi's, + it's an auto!

Like Jason says - autos always drink more than manuals.
