I / my father had started breaking a Disco 1 with 300Tdi engine in it. Due to me having a trailer available this weekend we'd like to scrap the rest of the vehicle to clear up some space.
Basically the reason for breaking / scrapping it is the chassis is completely shot to pieces. The engine and gearbox (R380) are in very good condition and have only covered ~80k if I remember correctly (the gearbox was replaced at about 35k under warranty). If I remember correctly it's been in our family since new (grandparents and then my father).
Since the engine and gearbox are in really good nick it would be a shame to scrap them so if someone's interested in then they can have it (at scrap value). Similarly any trim or other components are available.
Some pictures are here, apologies but I don't actually have one of the entire vehicle but it cannot be driven as I'd started taking an angle grinder to it to get various bits and pieces.
The vehicle is in South-West Wales but I'm trailering my 110 back this weekend and coming back with an empty trailer (along M4) so can bring things back along the M4 corridor. If someone's interested then it would probably be easier to keep what's left in one piece as it can then be rolled around. The trailer is a hire trailer so I have to return it either Sunday or Monday morning so anyone meeting up would need suitable man-power / equipment to shift the required components.
If no-one's interested by Saturday morning (early) then I shall be "learning" some Oxy cutting on the vehicle to strip anything we might find useful and then taking it to the scrap yard.
