Hi Folks, Have td5 auto es, have just had all oils changed and filters two days ago by Inde garage. My auto box is now wierd, this morning i selected drive and went to pull away and nothing happened took my foot off, revs dropped and i tried again, had to rev to 3krpm before she pulled, she then takes a while until she gets into top but i know this is normal (ish) if i then take my foot off and then re apply the gas she dosn`t pull again she revs and then you feel a bump as if its engaging again, its all revs and no pull,

Now my problem and urgency for help is I`m towing a caravan in two weeks to Devon fully loaded with kids etc.........Help !!!

Thought change of oils would help things AHHHHHH !

Hi, when the garage changed the gearbox oil they may have underfilled the it. if it is the same as the 300 series it needs to be checked when the engine is idling cold. hopefully it just needs topping up.

Dan

Whats the milage on your car?

When i changed my oil it had the effect of clearing all the crap out of the gearbox. This then got caught in the filter and dropped the pressure, casuing it to malfunction.

Were you experiancing problems before?

It took about 2 weeks for mine to bed in (before it broke again). Although saying that mines s 95 with 160k.

Oil level would be the first thing to check as pointed out by dansoliver

Thanks for the replies folks, its done 78k and the chap that did it said it was very dark and needed doing auto oil that is, will it improve do you think the more miles I do, you would think that being mechanical and not touched it would be as it was before oil change if not better.
I have had no problems before, recent EGR blanked off and its generally gone like a goodun, cant beleive its playing up now before i need it to do some work.

ATF fluid is a solvent type oil .Sometimes an oil change can cause problems by disturbing debris in your box. This ****e can block your filter and cause your symptoms .

I agree with Dan , as you have to follow the correct sequence when filling an Auto box .( Start engine, foot on brake, function gearbox jump out and start puttin some more ATF in til a thin bead runs out then shove plug in and jobs a good un). The gearbox vol in the work shop manual states 9.7 litres but this when everything is dry and includes the torque convertor and the volume I found to fill mine is normally around 4.5 litres.
