Southdowns is a good kit. Air ram pointed forward, metal pipe to the wing with a hose running inside the wing. We fit one in about an hour. Cut a hole, template, screws etc. Also bracket is screwed in to door frame.

And it aint coming off :D (luckily we didnt have to trim some pipe to fit with roof bar though)

.

Also looking, (just looking) at fitting a snorkel, but what I want to know is, if you remove the snorkel after your expedition, do you get any sort of mesh grill, or chrome filler piece, like what's on the side of the Range Rovers, so I could fill the hole up again.

Buy another outer wing from a scrappy? (that was our plan B :D)

I am doing a similar trip starting in the summer and I fitted a safari snorkel to my disco, mainly for the dust and to extend the life of the air filters, I am pretty sure the door seals would let a lot of water in if i did any deep wading!
I fitted mine myself and very nearly messed it up as I ordered the non-abs version and was just about to cut a large hole in the side before i noticed it wouldn't fit.
My disco is a special vehicles one so has a weird spec, nice to find out i had ABS though!

Just bought the new Mantec "Plastic Jobby" absolutly no good, doesn't seal against the body properly, mantec are looking into the problem but didn't expect bad quality from people like them. Lucky i tested the sealing before any wading!

I did, putting something together at the mo, having trouble uploading piccies and just found cant view any albums except when i click on the jobbies at the top of the home page.
Was quite a trip.

i meant probs in moroc? :D
