For a couple of reasons ive decided not to put a winch on the front of my 90 truck cab, main reasons, cost & amount of expected use.
But I do really like the look of the tubular bumpers, whilst most of these are of the winch type I've only found a few non winch ones, the shadow one from first four
Defender Tubular HD Bumper with A-Bar & Swivel Recovery Eyes
looks really good, but it is expensive.
Ive seen a couple on ebay (new not 2nd hand) for a lot less cost but they dont look as good.
has anyone any comments or alternatives ?
Thanks
Mark

Buy one that's been made by someone. Unfortunately, I don't have his card or anything but I got one for £70 from a guy at peterborough the other week. It's bombproof and much thicker than manufactured ones. I've added a couple of pics. If you see a guy with a massive red trailer full of bumpers, that's him and it's well worth buying one.

I almost bought one from that very bloke at the LRO show! The only thing that put me off was that i wanted one to take a winch and his only use the 4 original mounting holes and not the 2 on the chassis legs like some winch bumpers do. His non-winch ones looked very well made though. Might ask him to make one with the extra mounts next time :D

Yes it's rock solid. I didn't want a winch and I wouldn't have had one for a winch because all the strength is towards the car and I think a winch would damage it.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but did anyone manage to find the guy's no. who makes the tubular non winch bumper?
Cheers
Rick
