tried these and nothing

battery off for an hour try code beeps dont work
battery off press lock button then key in door turn nothing
battery connect with door open put key in ignition press buttons nothing

apparently theres passive and non passive i have tried both and none work
KEY LOCKED
alarm keeps going off no matter what have disconnected negative and just left now

why will nothing work on this car everything i do seems to be so hard and time consuming for absolutely no gain whatsoever

thats p38's for ya so they tell me

just read if cars in superlock mode and battery dies or is removed thats it i need it reprogrammed!!!!
is this right?? please tell me its not as im miles from any dealer and the tow there would wipe out what i have left apart from the fact i would have to get it towed back also as aint really running!!!!!!!!!!

You really need to take a break, mate - sometimes you need to take a step back in order to regain fresh ideas, plans etc. and just generally rest. Tiredness / exhaustion / stress - all makes things seem even more complicated than they are. P38s are man made (only a man could have caused such complications.....)and can be fixed - speak to Irish about things he's got loads of experience and diagnostic kit and could help with a confused BECM, which your Rangie might have.
You aren't a long way from sorting things, I'm sure, don't give up now, but do get some rest......

I agree with Rangiegal you have worked so hard and I have been following all of your posts, its no wonder you are exhausted. You have done most of the really hard work here anyone like Gav can appreciate the work you have done by changing the head gasket etc you have just got some niggly issues now. Take a break and some more ideas from the people here will help you out shortly. Don't dispair too much because when its running right you wont look back on how much pleasure these cars are to drive.
