transsmission brake

just replaced the oil seal on the rear output shaft, cleaned the brake backplate and every thing else, put it all back together with new shoes with the adjuster slackend right of but the shoes are binding, what have i dun wrong. other than doing it myself any ideas.

might just be the new shoes. take it for a drive (a few miles, with no traffic ffs) then check the shoes/drums again.

ps.
you have put them on the correct way?

run yer finger between the shoe and the lip of the back plate and ensure there is an equal gap around.
