*SUCCESS!*

So last night I resolved this fault. Afterwards it all made sense why what was happened was actually happening.

Stustrong, I woke up to your comments this morning and you've nailed 100%. Bloody well done buddy, if only you'd been about a couple of weeks back :D

It was the right hand rear (RHR) ABS sensor, the last owner had fitted what was obviously the wrong one. He had fitted that after the ABS showing a fault but he hadn't noticed that the reluctor ring had rusted itself solid to the inside of the hub. He said the fault I was experiencing was not present when he was working on the ABS system. I found he had fitted the wrong ABS sensor when I was going to fit the RHR sensor head into the LHR hub and vice versa. I wanted to know if the incorrect speed reading would change sides when reading the Live DATA on my OBD reader and thus tell me if it was a fault with the sensor or reluctor ring.

So initially the car was not reading any speed from the RHR ABS and therefore was applying brakes, reducing power, etc in an attempt to align wheel speeds. After I renewed the RHR CV joint with reluctor ring and because the wrong ABS sensor has been fitted, the car was now reading approximately double the wheel speed at RHR therefore again was applying brakes, reducing power, etc in an attempt to align wheel speeds.

Now I can look back and identify what were actually symptoms and what were red herrings, hopefully this information will be useful in the future.

Anyway, that's all sorted now :) and I'll move on to the next chapter.

A big thank you to all that have responded and a big shout out to stustrong.

Until next time.
