Transfer box questions

It seems my transfer box on my Disco 2 V8 auto has died. Looking at replacement second hand ones there is obviously a choice of those with and without diff lock . I'm guessing by looking at them that I cannot fit whichever is available as to my eye the ones with diff lock have an additional piece bolted on therefore won't tie up with my current set up. Is that right. Although my stickers show how to engage the diff lock I'm sure mine doesn't have one as it has no sideways movement at all in any range. Anybody know how long a garage might take in hours to swap the transfer box over ? Many thanks ian.

All D2 transfer boxes are the same. ( diff lock or non diff lock ).There was a few differences on the very last ones, but none that would affect its fitment to your car.

I thought that some of the later ones, after 2001 but before LR put the diff lock transfer box lever back in, had the spigot removed from the transfer box. The early D2s still have the spigot in there, as does my 2001 XS. I just need the kit to change the lever ..... but I'm not paying 400 bloody quid for a Britpart kit FFS!
EDIT. Ah I see what you mean. 50 pence is right: The box is the same as far as the casing goes but the CDL "versions" just has a lever attachment externally which unbolts.
