Another request for assistance please.

For reasons better known to themselves, somebody has removed the tow bar wiring from my L322. I found that the plug as disconnected in the boot but cable-tied to the wiring loom and there's no trailer socket outside. A gentle tug revealed that they've simply cut through the wires for whatever reason. So, I have a spare socket but not the plate that it fits to, I can make that easily enough but of course LR don't use stock wiring colours so if any of you fine people have a diagram you could. point me at, I'd be most grateful. If not, I can meter it out easily enough anyway.

Cheers

Richard

This is the diagram for 2003 onwards, but hey might have changed it in 2009 or later.

I have 1 in the garage (ordered wrong) but again as ^^^ not sure of the year. I do know this has a box of "black magic" and a relay. but the 2011 when I fitted it was plug and play.
I can take a picture tomorrow of the back of the socket for you to match the wires. think the box of magic is supposed to mount in the right hand rear cubby near the fuse box and a relay to plug in, but what year they changed to just plug and play I dont know.

Mine simply has a grey plug that is already on the loom with 7 wires coming out and an 8th with a spade connector on it. Typically, it's in the boot and I took it back to the Indy this afternoon. They are going to fit the coolant pipe and do a flush etc. for me tomorrow which then leaves me with almost nothing to fix... For now. Lots of fettling to do though and one thing I must find is a tow bar. I think I'll just go with eh 2" box and drop plate affair, I don't tow often so it's removable but without the heft price of the detachable unit. Better check the for sale section I suppose.

As you have said you only have 7 wires not sure what I have will be much good as it’s the 13pin socket.
But here anyway incase the wires do match. First 4 pics.

now the loom has 3 plugs 1 for the relay and 1 for the magic box.

So maybe not much use.

TBH you may want to order the correct wiring kit for your year with 13pin plug anyway, because they have to disable rear sensors, and fog light.
