Feck me - George Dubya has just told 'mericans to...

.... CONSERVE ENERGY!

He can sanction US$137 Billion (yes, Billion) to go 'liberate' Iraq,
but can't help people in his own back yard???

I need a little lay down in a darkened room...

One reason Martyn, he's a ****chop of monolithic proportions.

The whole world is in a state of flux i feel, where will it end?

Must have happened before, but it feels very real to me this time.

I think he has finally destroyed himself this time, with looting on the

Plenty of troops, but, hey, the people who didn't get evacuated
becuase they couldn't afford to go were either poor or black so
they don't count.

The USA shows it's true colours...........

Shoot to kill policy now. Just like in Iraq.

He's also just said that the complete devastation of a whole city (New
Orleans) is worse than the 9/11 disaster (when a large building fell
down)....

He's right on the ball isn't he!

not to mention blagging funds that should have been used for repairing the
mississippi levees for said war, allegedly. Mind you, asides of the poor
people who lived in New Orleans and suchlike and didn't have much choice in
the matter, The whole of the gulf coast and florida is a disaster waiting to
happen, and rich types that build summer homes on a coast known to be prone
to hurricanes deserve all they get and should have to pay for the damage out
of their own pockets.

The poor people who don't have a car etc. are of course the ones who aren't
in a position to get out - and there should be a plan in place to allow them
to be got clear, which there evidently wasn't...

I was thinking that - they must be short of military types to help sort the

Said on the news that USA don't have _any_ petrol reserves. That is why
Bush was looking a little worried.
All European countries store it up and only release it in real
emergencies. USA is going to have to buy spare fuel from Europe until
they fix all the sunk oil refineries.
Result will be European fuel prices rocket so that fat arsed cowboys can
drive to the shops in their pollution exempt V8 SUVs.

Maybe we could offer to let them rejoin the commonwealth?

I reckon the full picture will take some fair amount of time to
emerge. If indeed it ever does emerge, that is...

I'd like to think Bush has had it now - however, as history attests,
he'll end up, no doubt, a national hero...

He doesn't have to worry about winning a third term, and it's pretty
unlikely that he'll get thrown out. The next 3 years are just about
lining his pockets and ensuring Iraq provides lots of large contracts
for his friends.
I don't remember his father leaving office as a hero, but he keeps
turning up as a voice of good to support GW. They know people have very
short memories.

They've always found enough for every other major problem - peace
rallies, race riots, etc, or am I being over cynical?

Ask yourselves a little question while several million average people are
drowning starving and losing all they own while Dubya and his cronies sat on
their hands .
Who will Profit from all this?
2 big clues :----
who are Bushes friends the "have mores" of an off the cuff speech he made to
a bunch of oil barons.
who has reduced oil production and pushed the price of crude oil to an all
time record while begging more of the EU to ramp up the prices in europe.

I've seen reports of plenty of "military types" at Keesler AFB, doing
sweet FA to help.

There are also plenty of WTF comments out there from people who used to
be in the US military, know what plans there used to be, and are
wondering what has happened to the concept of "initiative".
