IIRC Crankshaft pulley bolt is the highest (well that I have torqued up). Think it was 200NM!!

I got it up to 170, and the engine was moving with brake and gear selected. I guess if I was on a ramp then it would be easier. Having said that it aint come loose in 17K!!

Regards,

Steve

Yeah around 210Nm

Crank pulley nut and driveshaft nuts.

thing is, a torque wrench of good quality will only cover a proportionate range, usually a junior torque wrench and the daddy torque wrench cover all jobs. Some torques are as ickle as 10Nm,

yer actual torque figures int that critical. i'm sure the tolerances in torque specs are quite large except in a few cases.

i have a torque wrench that goes from 45lbs/ft to 155lbs/ft anything below that figure and you can use common sense as to how far to tighten it anything above it and you take it up to 155lbs/ft and then a few grunts and groans more.

generally big bolts/nuts = big torque... small bolts nuts = small torque

even head bolts int that critical and after you have done a few, experience will tell you how far to tighten them. although with the gaylander and its inhearrant HG problems i think i'd be looking for a surgical torque wrench to ensure it was as perfect as possible.

tend to agree wiff slobmiester . . . .i never use a talk wench less its summit critical like head bolts /gearbox innards/wheel bearings un fings, other than that its common sense. . . .Parp!!!!!oops shorry ma pooper valve need adjustment. . . .porky you nicked the talk wench agin. . . .
