To fit wolf softop or not? Can it be painted?

Picked up a used 110 wolf soft top today. I'm in 2 minds weather to fit it or not...... It is marked where the tyre has been fitted to the side and I doubt it will wash off. Not sure if I want this mark on it or if I want to mount the wheel on the side like a wolf. Has anyone had any experience in painting these soft tops? I guess it would need to be paint with a bit of flex so it doesnt just crack off. Rest of the roof seems ok.

Can not be painted,thinners/white spirit should remove tire rubber,afterwards wash with soapy water.

Thanks for the reply - Ive not tried cleaning it but have done some searching online and it looks like maybe it can be painted.
