Timing chain tensioner problem FL td4 2003?

First of all, excuse me for my English skills :baby:. Secondly, sorry if I'm starting a thread to which there already is an answer, I have really searched for it and haven't found it.

Have a FL td4 2003 with 90,000kms behind it. It has started to sound horrific. A loud rattle or rustle. At first the sound came at idling or when giving no gas. No noice while giving gas. Today (has not started the car for a week), it sounded as it should at idling but ratteling while giving gas.

Somenone, with more knowledge than me, thinks it is the timing chain tensioner. Is it any easy way to access this part in the engine? Or at least an easy way to access the timing chain in order to feel if it is loose or not?

I have downloaded RAVE, but there is no chapter about timing chain tensioner adjustment or changing. Suppose that these parts are considered to last longer than the life-time of the car... Perhaps you could guide me into the RAVE, and suggest where to start reading. I've checked the exploded parts view, page 12-1-10 in "System and Description" but it didn't give much. In the service procedures manual I've checked page 12-1-62, but it seems like I need to disassemble half the engine to get there?

Most thankful for any suggestion, advice, or instruction you can give me in this matter.
