Never bothered me till my transit starter spun over twice as fast out of nowhere. Bent pushrods and never ran as well again.The old boys that tried to teach me diesel fitting in the 70s would be turning in their graves if they knew most diesels now have cambelts!As far as they were concerned, something that should never be seen!
Timing gears, a la Perkins etc!How can you go wrong, constant mesh, oil lubricated. Never wear or break for the rest of your life if you change the oil!
Only an accountant wouldnt see the sense in it!![]()
As for the 4th gear thing, try posting in the tratter section, those cats will have some pointers. Your apprenticeship starts hereI also want it tweaking slightly as it seems good on the flat but bit dead acelarating on incline in 4th gea

It may not be tardy mate.TDI isn't tardy though. May just be gunked breathers etc
Its not weak by all means and have had 80mph out of it up Houghton Cut
