Freelander 1 Three door rear seats issue

Are the 2 seater rear seats in a freelander supposed to get able to fold down. Mine won't but might be broken pull handles at the back..[GALLERY=][/GALLERY] picture next

Anyone. I either need them folded down by the weekend or have them taken out, I've a load to lift. from my last freelander, the seats have to fold back, to be able to remove them, so can anyone advise? I'm clear on how to take them out, but as I recall, they have to fold down to do that.

Only ever seen a 3 door with a 2 +1 split rear.
I guess these should fold the same, lift handle on seat back access from boot.

I have had this same problem solved it by taking the plastic cover at the side of the seat off and using a screwdriver to move the mechanism to drop the back down then it worked

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Just wasn't sure if the 2 seats model where supposed to fold down or not..

Sorted. Both cables from pull handles banjaxed. Pair of pliers and and yanked the cables.
