A 2004 TD4 Freelander. Lots of people have advised me against it yet some people I talk to who actually own a Freelander say that they have had no problems whatsoever and are really nice to drive. I know the early models gave problems but they got a facelift and some design changes in 04, did the reliability improve as well? Am I mad or is the freelander a sensible option. I do a lot of miles so i don't want to end up 100 miles from home in a broken down freelander.... I suppose it could happen in any car but some more than others...

only buy a diesel freelander and do your research before you buy. if possible take someone along who knows about them. my experience of freelanders is that they are very reliable if looked after. the bonus is that they don't rust like other older landrovers.
