After a year of work, got my series 3 through it's MOT. However, went for first decent drive in it since I bought it and the thermostat seems to be recording a water temp just within the filled in white C area on the guage on the dash. Should it not be in the 'normal' range? New Thermostat?

also discovered radiator leak, is it an easy job to replace rad??

have obviously found out there's no such thing as a 'finished' landy!!

cheers

Radiator is a doddle if you can find a good one for a reasonable price. Drain the system, unbolt hoses & old one, lift in new one, connect hoses & fill it.....................of course, nothing ever goes like that, but it isn't a major job.

Loads of things to check before changing the thermostat...........only half of which I can think of off of the top of my head. Might be sticking open, but equally might be the gauge. Do a search, the subject's been covered a couple of times recently for sure.

Check the accuracy of the gauge before you start any work relating to the temperature part of your problem. Very few instruments in a LR give anything close to a true reading (wait till you look at the fuel gauge and the speedo)
