The rear wipe on my disco doesn't seem to work properly. When I depress
the button the wiper will sweep once and then park. I would expect it to
sweep 3 times and then sweep intermittently.

When we carried out the fault finding and everything pointed to a faulty
MFU. This has been replaced and the fault has not gone. Any ideas what
else could be causing the problem. The rear wash wipe works as expected,
sweeping 3 times before parking.

The switch does not stay down and never has since we bought the car. I
have ordered a new switch and hopefully this may solve the problem.

Thanks

they may not do - on the 200 TDi type I had it had a touch-switch, and it
had a distinct knack in getting the bastard to turn off again. On the '95
300 TDi, the switch has a latch so it stays down 'til you push it again.

Having looked at the parts list there is only one switch part number
listed and at a couple of quid it won't break the bank if it doesn't
solve the problem :)

To be honest when we went through the diagnostics procedure it never
occurred to us that the switch could be the problem. Doh!!

New switch fitted and all is well... well until something else goes wrong
