Hi All

My Disco TD5 (1999) clutch started slipping a little at 2000rpm after having JE Engineering do a stage 1 remap on it - after 120,000 miles I thought simply a worn clutch.

Following advice from mechanic, went for the Britpart heavy duty flywheel kit (I know, don't laugh - couldn't get a price for Rakeway and don't think I could afford it anyway). Now the clutch slips more than ever. Britpart suggested replacing slave and master cylinders (done with AP stuff) - still slips. No leaks from engine or gearbox seals, fuel regulator or clutch hydraulics and no evidence on old clutch plate of any contamination. Clutch bites as normal - it's as if the clutch isn't releasing fully even though it's at the top of it's travel. The only Britpart bit that came in their kit was the cover plate - flywheel and release bearing Rakeway?, friction plate AP.

Any ideas out there for a first time poster?

sounds like a dodgy pressure plate. or release bearing not fully returning so not fully releasing pressure plate.
don,t no if you,ve ever done it. but it is possible to drive car without clutch pedal this would enable you to determine if its clutch problem or hydraulic problem. to do this you would have to release the fluid pressure.
