I have just bought a TD5 chassis (genuine LR) and gt it for a song. I intend to rebuild my 90 2.5 td on to this chassis, apart from engine mounts is there much anyone thinks i will encounter that will come as a surprise?

Thanks

Matt

TD5 fuel tank mounts in the back - you will need to cut these off, and may need to modify slightly the mounts for your tank.

Wasn't off ebay was it, in shropshire?
No not from Shropshire, I got it from a LR authorised dealer in Lincolnshire, genuine LR part and all for £620. I should have it shortly and will need a new bulkhead, any ideas of a cheap source? I spent about £700 on the engine last year, a std 2.5 TD it needed new pistons and rings, valve stem seals and all the other lits so i had it all done but havent driven it since. So a full rebuild this year is in order. Are there any books worth looking at? This is my first landy build, I have a 2008 Freelander HST but that doesnt need much so all of this is new to me.

Yes i spent 700 on a 2.5td, but it sort of happened, you know the routine, just do the valves, yeah go on change the rings..... oh the pistons are split, bugger okay do them, on so on, at least it wont let me down again! Hopefully.
