While poking around under the bonnet today I noticed that the radiator top hose has become soft/swollen and where it connects to the engine the metal clamp/band has started to cut into the hose.
It will have to be changed, is this an easy job? A quick google for a new hose shows it to have some kind of a plastic connector at the radiator end. Is this easy to undo/connect?

It is easier to remove the hose after the stainless steel band as been cut, to remove it with the connector still intact you need to remove the unit from the head, it is held on with three 10mm bolts, once removed you can then remove the plastic connector to the large hose, remove the spring clip then tease out with this bladed screwdriver, if you try to remove the connector on the car you may damage the unit as it is quite brittle after being on the car for quite a while.
