Morning all,

New member, and first post here.. Have been looking round the Freelander forum for the last few weeks, and you seem a knowledgeable bunch! :)

I'm going to look at purchasing my first Freebie later;

2005 '55' Plate
TD4 Auto 'Adventurer' 5dr
27k miles
under £9,000 from an independent (non-LR specialist) Dealer

Does this seem a reasonable price? The mileage is pretty low for a 4/5 year old car, which I hope will be a good thing! Anything in particular I should look out for?

a quick scan of ebay shows this price to be in the right area, albeit towards the higher end of the area. however, as you are buying it from a dealer rather than private, this is to be expected, as hopefully you will get some form of warranty (worth every penny for a freelander).

if you do a search on thise section, there are lots of posts about common faults with the freelander, although the td4 seems to be the best of the bunch. don't touch 1.8 petrol with a broken barge pole.

more than happy with my td4 van version, takes a right hammering, but no real problems so far (touch wood).

good luck, and don't forget to keep coming back !

I have a 2006 TD4 Adventurer, traded it in for a 2006 BMW 1 Series and I have never looked back since, great cars if you look after them properly :eek:)
