Hi guys, was on here previosly as tjgaines but my email f*****d up so re-registered. My 300tdi has developed a tapping noise i would describe as detonation / pinking if it were a petrol. Only just started doing it out of the blue, it only occurs at half throttle an above when in gear, but then if you dip the clutch it instantly disappears so im guessing it isnt transmission related. Only thing is it wont do it by just revving the engine only when moving an in gear?? I realise this is one of 'those' threads but i just cannot find it and its doing my head in.
