Dear all,
My 2001 TD5 has developed a tapping noise, sounds like it may be from the gearbox. When I move through the box every thing seems ok, drop it into 5th and you hear a tapping noise exactly like if an overhead cam was on its way out, its not very loud at the moment but if you like push against the gear lever the noise gets a wee bit louder.
If when moving along at say 50/60 mph, stick your foot on the cluch or even knock it out of gear and rev the engine at the same time NO NOISE. any ideas..
