Taking Landrover In

Taking my Disco to a local non franchis specialist today, originally made appointment because of faulty brake lights which I have now sorted, but one of the headlights is leaking slightly as well, and someone has chewed one of the screws that clips it back into the bumper so it doesnt go in perfectly flush anymore.

I am thinking of asking the guy to take it out for a ten minute drive as its my first disco and although it feels ok to drive I want him to put it through its paces to see if he thinks it is driving ok. Is this ok or do you think he may then try fishing for faults which are not there? He did say before fitting egr plates etc to check that the car is running well first (I think he assumed I was enquiring about them because it was sluggish, more than just saving on fuel economy)

Its the 02 model and I just thought the suspension would be a bit better than it is, but then I have nothing to compare it too not having driven one before.

htf does a head light leak?? wots it leaking? ...light?? ou peut-etre electricity?

ah really dint think anyone can tell you if yer indie is gonne try and rip you orf, cos you int sed who it is and just cos one indie might, dunt mean they all will. so it follows that if one wont it dint follow that they all wont.

you'd be better asking if anyone knew of a good indie garage near where you live, which i noticed you int filled in, so yule have to tell us.

Its leaking rain water in......thought that may have been obvious

I live in South Wales - Swansea . Took it to Lewis 4x4 in the end. He couldnt do anything with the headlight unit as someone had sealed it shut (possibly trying to stop water getting it) and it wouldnt jemmy open.

Looks like it had had a supermarket ding as a bolt was missing from it too which holds it tightly in place.

I noticed they had ECU Chips made by JE in stock which for June were down to £225 (half price)
