I've just taken the plunge and bought a Range Rover.
Nothing special - an old 1995 P38 4.6 HSE Auto. Paid £2K for it.
Body work only had two marks on it. Interior almost spotless. Full service history- but has only done 46K it's entire life!!
O rings, air con, exhaust, suspension etc - all done.
Got a couple of things to do - one being the starter. A push button has been installed to get round the problem, which works fine. Have a number of possibilities- sensor on gearbox, wiring, but will give me something to do!!! The radio display sometimes plays up - but I think I'll find that cure on here, just got to look.
We went over everything -all works fine. Very slight lumpiness on idle but with so few miles being done we are pretty sure it just needs a good service.
Over ten years ago I had a 1959 Series II with a rover 3.5 V8 lump in it. bought it on a whim and loved it. Broke the gearbox - installed a replacement myself. Changed the seats for Alfa ones, three point harnesses, new exhaust. all so easy to do!!
Now this!
I think I might be having a mid life crisis, but the misses did tell me to get a hobby!
