Fitted many replacement mechs and re cable jobs over the years.

Bought several sets of cables and restored a few old mechanisms to have them ready when needed.

All displayed the same problem when fitted. Window dropped about half what it should when door handle operated.

Cut a long story short, long bottom cable is about 12mm too long on all kits.

Have purchased a 6mm cable adjuster to fit so that adjustment is easy with unit in door. This will help when cables stretch. Also the auto adjuster is rubbish and required the original set of plastic teeth fitting from the original to make it work and hold. Probably better to let it adjust and then drill and fit pin as I have seen on you tube.

Will post picture of said adjuster when it arrives. Only adds a quid to the kit so less than a tenner all in and it gives control over the cables stretching and any tolerances in cables or mech.

Got me head scratching !!!
