Hello All,

last week the rear end regulator gave up. I got one from ebay, see below, today as the motor still worked fine. Changed it and put the window back in. After 10 minutes waiting for the recalibrating it worked again up with nuts not tightened for the windows. After lowering the rail and tightening the nuts, it's not working anymore.
I read the rear wiper shall be in parking position which it is and tried to adjust the rail with the lower screw, but it still stops working when tightening the nuts holding the window.

Is there anything else I could do? I read that some of the cheaper regulators might cause problems. Thought the reviews here looked good and having fitted the other four already thought this might work as well.

Where you say tightening the nuts, from memory there's 2 that act as adjusters, so the window sits on the seal at the top.
Have you overtightened so the window can't move?

If you mean one left, one right where it clamps the window in? Hope not that I tightened it too much, but can try and loosen it a bit.

There is adjustment there, more left to right I think and should be tight, the ones that clamp the glass.

There's adjusters in the lower rail fixings I think. Threaded both ends so the rail can move and then locked by the bolt on the door skin. Maybe a slot in the threaded part to hold the threaded part still while tightening the nut

Just took a pic from upper two and lower nuts to fix rail. Couldn't get the ones with the clamp from inside at the moment though. The upper two I tightened on the same marks like the old one and the lower as well, but tried to adjust that the rail would be more vertical. On the right side there was some plastic (distancer) from the inside of the door which I couldn't find on the other side. Bodget had a video from it and if saw it right he just put the two lower ones with threads on both sides on from the outside and put the nuts on. I Could be wrong though.

Somehow it looks if the two rails would have a different bend or is it just me? Could that be the cause?

The bottom ones do adjust, I would try and raise the window with the door open to see if it's catching anywhere on the body.
The rails look the same, but I'm looking on a phone screen.
I think the problem with the cheap ones is the motor.
There's a clip for the cable I think that has the sleeve on it to stop the window catching it on the way down.
Sometimes it's best to go back to basics and check what you've done. And at the same time become a master at getting the regulator out of the smallest hole in a door!

The motor shouldn't be the problem. It's the original one from Siemens. Will try the lower nut and bolt to adjust. That clip doesn't exist on that one.

Got it sorted today. Left the two lower bolts untightened from the inside, so prob. 2-3mm play on the left from the inside and a bit more on the right one as the window didn't slip in when closing. Thanks a lot.
