Hi, 2 days ago the wires snapped on my tailgate window reg. Today I fitted a new full setup minus the motor sourced from Fleabay. So I swapped the motor over and fitted it, my window works great, however when it goes up it doesn't seat properly under the plastic sill, I need to give the window a wee push inwards, is there any way of adjusting it? I buggered about aligning and re-aligning it for a good few hours today but got no where.

You need to adjust the bottom bolt on each runner, to push each runner away from you, this will then lean the glass inwards.

I did this on mine, I removed the runners and the spacers between them from the door frame, and I didn't think anything of it, till I reassembled the door.

Also if you don't get the seal correct on the window, it will start letting water in.

Turn the adjuster screws on the bottom of each guide runner- the ones with locknuts and large washers underneath to give approx. 1mm of deflection of the rubber door aperture seal. The screws act as "Jacking screws", simply slacken the locknut, insert a flat blade screwdriver into the slot on the end of the screw and adjust in or out as required. Nip the locknut up when happy with the setting.
If the glass is over adjusted against the rubber seal the window will struggle to close against the pressure.
Best way is to remove the tailgate door trim, tip the rear seats forward, close the tailgate and get someone to adjust the screws from inside whilst observing the glass against the seal deflection from the outside.
Also check that the door latch striker is not adjusted correctly, causing the tailgate to be too far away from the rubber seal.

Additionally, the glass must be located centrally in the clamps so that the gap between the sides of the door frame and the edges of the glass are equal when the glass is in the raised position.

argh.... went out there to use the freebie and... the window has dropped, the dash lights are going bananas and it wont start... just a click from the fusebox...

Sounds like the battery has a bad connection - one reason for the tailgate window to drop all of a sudden - don't know about the dash lights though - which dash lights are coming on?

OK, is the battery old, whilst aligning the window was your engine switched off. Did you do the rear window reset routine.
So your battery could have died as it was old and not being charged whilst you ran the window motor + if you didn't reset the rear window it will have dropped as this is it's default option.
If you have access to another battery or booster pack, plug em in and turn the key. If it starts normal, there's your problem.
If not then ask someone else:p

Thanks again guys, Just jump started it, started no probs, ran it for half an hour whilst reading the obd readout, battery was reading a constant 14.5 volts the whole run. So im guessing I must have ran it flat with the constant up/down of rear window. Ill find out in the morning, lets hope I make work on time :)
