So the Range Rover tailgate badges have suffered the wear of time and looking tired (on both the P38's) and looking for replacement badges for the front and rear without going to the main stealer expense (50 odd quid each set) of buying replacements does anyone have an idea of where to source them..

I want to stay close to OEM so not later model L322+ type lettering?
 
Thanks Martyn.. they are the L322 onwards type.. don't want to be looking like i've done a badge change to make it look like a newer version than it is.. i'll go with aftermarket copies that look like the orginals if they are copies of the orignals.. i've found someone on fleabay that does OEM copies from Malaysia for 30 quid for a pair, but would prefer something located closer to the UK if poss.

or am i just being an anal-retentive a-hole ?

Are these not like the P38 originals, they look pretty similar to mine (although mine are more a brushed finish than a silver)? Pretty sure mine are original.:confused:
 
nope. the ones on yours are the OEM type for the year. most on fleabay are the later type that rise higher and and have a convex face, rather than the flat face, raised about 1mm.

(nice looking P38 by the way Martyn)

But mine have the convex face? Are these not original then, i always thought the flat type i've seen were the cheaper copies?
 
the P38 OEM bonnet and Tailgate badge letters are flat across the face and raised about 1mm, have a click on the rimmerbros link i posted and click enlarge. They come in two colours anthracite for light colurs like silver bodywork and silver for dark colours like the westminster blue.

The convex faced ones that are something like 4-5 mm at the highest and about 1mm at the bottom and top edges are from later models (like the L322+)
