T28 Silvia turbo on 200 TDI

Hi all, the turbo on my defender 200 TDI has failed and after seeing the prices to replace or rebuild it i might as well upgeadw whilew i have the chance/excuse. i have read that a T28 Turbo is a common upgrade but i'm struggling to find much infomation on them, T28 turbos have the the same T2 mounts so should fit the manifold and the exhaust studs look the same they were fitted to nissan Silvias. does anyone have any knowlage of this conversion? as i would like to know any complications in fitting and running this set up.

Hi the turbo you mention is similar in some areas but may have oil feed in a different place ! Try a garret t4 turbo and an allard full size inter cooler !! Will work very nicely along with some inj pump mods and a straight thru exhaust !! Add an r380 gearbox , a disco transfer box move your engine forward about three inches weld new mounts onto chassis ! Now your gear lever will be in the right place !! Modify gearbox tunnel as well!! Oh use disco axles as well !! That's how mine is and it pulls very nicely upto 85 no probs !! It gets scary after that !!!!! Best use a British turbo really !!! Them japanese parts are good on Japanese cars!!!!
