Hi all just spoke to the people who make these synergy tuning mudules as i am very tempted to install one in my TD4.

what they recommend is the synergy2 module for my TD4 however they also recommend i change the maf sensor for one of their Pierburgh maf's if my motor is weak below 1000 rpm and up to 2000 rpm as my maf could be on it's way out.

Their maf's retail at £60 which is cheap enough they said they could instal both the synergy 2 and maf for an extra £20 (there very local to me)
what do people reckon should i change the maf sensor when i do the upgrade to be 100% sure i get all the extra's from the tuning module or should i take a chance with my maf which seems to be OK at the moment
car has covered 165000 miles and going strong still
cheers.

Hi skoda - chances are that at 165K your MAF will be well past it's best if it's the original Bosch.

Go for the Pierburg - it's an excellent deal (and you keep your Bosch as a spare should you sell the car and keep the Synergy.)

The Synergy2a+ is the kit to get - along with the dash switch so you can swap between the ECO mode and the Power mode while on the move.

It's the biggest single improvement you can make to any Freelander.

Well worth the money.

Thanks Singvogel you have made my mind up will pop down tomorrow and order the kit ,he reckons i will need to give him a few days to get one built as he is selling them as quick as he makes them.

other than the BMW PCV filter mod along with the EGR bypass is there anything else that would help with the running of the car??

although as i said it seems to be a really reliable engine without any faults and pulls like a train
Skoda

Engine-wise there really is nothing else other than the usual routine servicing parts.

Fit a decent quality air-filter - Mann or Mahle are the BMW OE fitments for all filters. Don't forget the turbo solenoid brether - its often overlooked as it's tucked away down the back.

These are really reliable engines if properly looked after.

Give the Ron-Box guys my regards from Bosnia Hercegovina - I fitted a Synergy2a+ to yet another Freelander on Saturday in Belgrade, Serbia.
