Hi all, just wondering what peoples opinions are on suspension upgrades. i dont want to raise or lower my 1988 90" 2.5td
but i do want better suspension as i dont think that it has been renewed since coming out of the factory (20 years ago)! what is the best way of upgrading; coilovers? springs + shocks?

greatful for any help - Cheers Will

what would you say is wrong with the setup you have got now ? - you may well just be better off replacing the exisitng with some new orginal parts as after 20 years they are bound to be tired

yeh i thought that might be an option. theres nothing wrong with whats on there now, just gets me a bit worried on the lanes when its all shaking like feck and i'm thinking its all going to fall apart! are originals cheaper than any aftermarket? and are they just as good?

that all sounds quite normal to me .......

orginal parts are generally more expensive than (for example) a Britpart version - but there's a huge range of suspension upgrades you could fit, some are crap some are OK, how good they are is often a matter of personal opinion

spend yer money on fuel and drive it untill something does fall apart

I changed mine about 6 months ago, i had the same problem, 18 years old. Just put on new springs and pro comp shocks. It has made it a lot better to drive now.
