RRS 2010. 5.0L supercharged.

Back again. I have a suspension fault that is next on my list to tackle.

Sometimes it works fine but others it chucks a fault at me. Please see the attached photos for more information... The on board 4x4 info screen shows a red dashed line above the front right wheel. The Land Rover SDD suspension information screen shows a significantly lower voltage on that wheel and it shows 2 fault codes relating to the suspension.

My driveway is not level which doesn't help and I am unable to take it to somewhere level as it isn't taxed, insured or have an MOT or wing mirrors currently!

These fault codes are
C1A13-64 - Pressure does not decrease when venting gallery.
U0421-68 - Invalid data received from ride level control module.

I don't think it is a height sensor issue, as they seem steady on the screen when i leave it to sit. To me it seems more like an air or electrical issue but unsure where to start.

It only happens when you try and go into access height. Compared to previous RRS I have owned I would say the raising is a little slower than normal but not stupidly slow.


Any help would be greatly appreciated and can answer any questions you may have.

I would add to this that I have replaced the lower arm on the front left wheel as it was bent.

I understand this can have an effect on the suspension system, even if you get it as best aligned as possible.

Could this really be all that's causing this?

Indeed when ever the front lowers or rear upper wishbones are replaced will need a full 4 x wheel alignment done as it throws the system out

plus may I ask please , when u replaced ur front lower wishbones I assume u done them as a pair and how did u do a final torque up of the bolts please , I mean did u do them up with the vehicle in the air or on the ground plse , just then gives me an idea what you’ve done, many thks

also have u measured the suspension height in normal ride height , from the centre of the wheels to the bottom of ur arch wheels liners in millimetres plse as that will also give us an idea of what the heights are like plse , thks

Thank you for your reply, I haven't had any time to do any work on it tonight but will give you as much information as I can. The pressure charts are very useful. I will see what my system registers tomorrow.

The wishbone was not done as a pair no, the wishbones were recently done however the car was stolen and they crashed it, bending the front lower left wishbone, only that has been replaced.

The bolts were torqued off the ground, they were marked before taking them out, they are close but not perfect. I was always planning on getting it realigned, I just can't right now.

I also removed the wheel lining for easy access for to the brake sensor. (brakes were done both sides)

I have no measurements for now, but will get them asap.

Thinking about it, I am 99% sure the suspension fault was not there before I did the wishbone & brakes. But I can't find anything that confirms that is the issue or that wheel is the culprit.

ur so welcome and glad it was useful

Sorry to hear of it getting stolen , regarding the bolts the wishbone should be preloaded to its normal ride height before the bolts are done up, otherwise it puts a lot of stress on the bushings , ie excessive twisting

wonder if u can find a local a garage that can pick it up for u as they can use trade plates due to the expired mot , at least then ur get the alignment and mot sorted out , along with good diagnostics
